For the last 35 years whenever I've glanced at a clock and the time was exactly 2:43, I would have this warm, and fuzzy feeling come over me. Happened again just this afternoon.

Not sure about that. that’s just what the guy told me. I’d bought a .243 for my daughter for Christmas and was looking for ammo. I’ve found some .243 myself but not what i prefer to use, kinda a use what u can find kinda deal
I wonder if that shop was even trying to get 204? I’ll say the last 2 weeks I’ve probably been to around 20 stores that sell guns/ammo. Out of those I found one with 204 ammo, while I’d say half of them had 243. And probably a third of them had 22 250

The last 4 shops I’ve stopped at the past few days have all had some 243 ammo. All in the 95-100 grain bullets. Think I’m just gonna have to reload to get something in the 70-80 weight

Walmart in Fern Creek had 243 ammo today for $34.88 ish I bought they same stuff before deer season for $26.98 it was basic hunting ammo.

All the ammo went up. 6.5 Creed, 308, 30-06, 300 Win were all in stock with many boxes but mostly over $30 a box. I did find three boxes of 410. :)

That's what I thought. 204 is a niche caliber not popular here in Kentucky. It is much faster and hard hitting that the popular 5.56 but Ammo was always scarce here.
I only bought one box in my life and i think i have had 6 rifles. Always loaded my own but now you can't find Sierra or Nosler bullets. A fella in Pennsylvania sent me 3 boxes of SBK 39g. and that's it. VMax are around but a Lot of the .204 don't shoot them well due to the forward ojive.
204 is not harder hitting than 223. You would have to step way, way down to get 223 at that level. Faster? Sure . I’ve had a couple 204s and I found nothing useful.

You are Correct.
I like the .204 because it is so flat shooting. I have killed a lot of PDs with the 40g VMax. And.
You can See your Hits in the scope view. Also killed a lot with the .223 but the wind deflection is much worse.

I always wanted to go out to a dog town for some shooting but never have. I definitely see where a .204 has the advantage in that situation.

I don’t have anything against a .204 just decided to try and consolidate a little. Unfortunately it was the first caliber I got away from.

I have 2 savage axis in 243.. 1 is my hunting gun and the other is my range gun...ammo is no problem for me because I reload but even factory ammo is coming back nicely around the Lexington ky area
