Looking at either a Browning x-bolt or a Savage 15 Recon 22 Nos. Anyone have any experience with either gun? I like the Xbolt was thinking the 22Nos platform in an AR may be better.

Nos won't touch the .22-.250, as far as ballistics. Still plenty for coyotes tho, and would be a cool round in an AR platform. I've been considering the Valkyrie in an AR, myself

If you own an AR, buy a new upper in 22 Nos. If you don't own one, the Savage is what I'd go with because it's a semi auto, makes followup shots at running critters a lot quicker. Looks like the 22 Nos falls between the 223 and 22-250 ballistically.

something else to consider, will the Nos 22 be around after the honeymoon wears off? if you reload, not a problem and if nosler sells enough ammo to justify the product, not a problem, but...........
while playing around on the net this morning over coffee, i read where, while not common, there are 22-250 uppers to be found for AR's. IMO, that would be the best of both worlds for you.

22-250 would be in an AR-10 platform, rather than AR-15, I assume?

From what I am reading I think you can do 15. I have read some problems on the magazine on the 15 though.

Pretty sure. I don't see any other way for it to work

Don't know anything about it. This will give me something to do tonight in the motel. :)
While I'm moving safe queens.....my 22-250 is a Browning A-bolt Varmint, heavy barrel and wide stock, BOSS system with Leupold VXIII LR (30mm tube i think) either 6x20 or 8.5x25-50. Less than two boxes shells put through it. Last time i shot it, 8 yrs ago, i vaporized a dozen prairie dogs. I could send pics Sunday if you might be interested. Have to figure out what the price tag is. Grey laminate stock, may be thumbhole.

Olympic arms made a ar 15 in 22-250 it had mag problems but I don't know if they still do make them.
22 nosler I don't think will go anywhere unless gun control on semiautomatic gets it.
If you want to punch paper the valarkie is a better option for shooting the heavys. 22 nosler shoots the lighter bullets better.
I have a 6x6.8 which is the 6.8 necked down to 243, it shoots 55 gr- 95 gr but is reload only.

I'm so busy doing nothing, forgot this. VXIII LR 8.5-25x50, 30 mm tube. Leupold dual dovetail mounts, rings lapped, decelerator recoil pad.
