we had a good first weekend 24 geese and 7 wood ducks in two days. the 3 wood ducks that came into the goose spread perfectly was a little cherry on top of some good goose hunts.

yup just like every year anymore. only hope is they are talking like a weaker polar vortex this year might let the jet stream slip down a little bit here and there. Thats why I go north they just dont get here anymore. Halloween green in 8 days.

Just back fm Manitoba. Descent 4 1/2 days of hunting. 3 best hunts above. Lots of dry sloughs, and warm weather. Birds rarely fed same place twice which made it hard to get on the X cause it moved every day if they fed at all. Needed cold weather to force em to feed. Lots of water hopping and one wrong directed shot, you could clear a slough for the week. Not a drop of swath grain in the fields this year. Lots of pea fields regen'd after they finally go some rain. Those fields were king, every mallard we cleaned was loaded with peas! First good hard cold weather should push the birds outta there for southern locales with more feed and water. KS and NE should be real good this year. Still shot more ducks than I'll see in KY! :) Pup had over 100 retrieves, he was a tired lil man!
