Checked on a few patches that produced 8 last Saturday. Found 12 and picked 4 of those. The other 8 were very small so I marked them and covered them with leaves to see how tonight’s freeze affects them. All of these I found today looked like they had just popped following last night’s rain.

Taking the dogs out last night gave me the itch bad…taking them out this afternoon scratched it for me.

All of the one’s I left overnight were not damaged by the 25 degree temps. Found 6 new ones while checking on the others. Picked another 12 to go with yesterday’s 4.
I did leave 2 to see how they fare with the upper teens/low 20’s the next 2 nights.

Got back out today in Jefferson where I found my 1st 3 on 3/9. I guess the bad news is it doesn’t appear that any or many new popped there since 3/9. The good news is maybe they were just delayed and not damaged by the freezes. I picked 1! I don’t recall a season like this one where they have been delayed this long after initially popping.

Definitely a big delay. By Sunday they should be doing good. What type is hard to tell. Prolly a combo of diff types. After church it’s game on Sunday .

Soils temps are getting right again. We should be able to start finding them again this weekend.

Checked on 3 patches at my Hart County farm this afternoon. Picked 16, 1 was one that I left behind to see how the low 20’s temps affected it. No harm, it doubled in size since last weekend
