2020 Morel Season

    F38F53AE-19CD-4124-BC26-62A912B6F4CF.jpeg Wife and I checked on the patches where I have picked 16 so far. Season is coming in really slow. We found 1 fresh black that had just popped in a patch that hadn’t produced one so far this season.

    I took my old setter with me several years ago hunting morels, looked over and she was pointed. I leaned around a tree and looked and there was a grouse about 30 feet out in front of her staring at her. Pretty dog you got there.

    Short walk produced encouraging morel news; my first tulip is fully extended and preparing to bloom, with two, while the rest are patiently awaiting these next few nights forecast to be in the mid 30s. :)

    I found a total of one today. If the weather would stay warm like this it would a big help.

    Went right after work today found 4, 3 were big enough to pick left the fourth one to grow couple more days if weather cooperates should be good all black variety but looked tan hadn't been up long

    Can't leave them to grow around here turkeys come through and scratches swath bout 20 yards wide

    What part of the state are you in mud hole? I have never found a grey.
