Rough River has been good to us this year.
I don’t know why they all turned sideways but I’ve caught a lot of crappie this spring Plus a couple catfish in the 8-10 lb range Along with some bass and bluegill
First flat of year. My favorite fish to catch.
Best fish in our waters, in all aspects. That one's cute lol
You never know what color your going to get here. Wife caught one the other day. It was a text book yellow cat.
Had a quick trip 4 cats 1 crappie 4 gills and 1 redear, can’t figure out how to turn the pictures!!
Nice. Big red to.
Lol right on!
I’ve never had stripers or hybrid. Are they good to eat?
My experience is spring and late fall they are good. Dead of summer they are mushy. The ones out of salt water are good year round but best fall and winter I think.
Striper is different form any other freshwater fish in my opinion. Closes comparison is belly meat of a decent flat head. They are firm and flaky like most salt water fish. I guess because that is what they are, well maybe brackish water fish. If you separate a big filet into the top section and bottom section, the top section can be steaked out into big pieces that make one of the finest big thick fish sandwiches you have ever eaten!!
Real good fish to eat just cut the red meat out of the flay
