It is truly a simple process. On here it is made to seem much more difficult than it really is. If everyone would set down and READ the guidelines and procedures half of the questions would be answered.

Guys, the group number is only for your group if you applied for the 15 so-called lottery areas, that is over. If you did not apply for the lottery areas, then you just reserve an area the day prior based on your tier level times. If you want to hunt with 4 others then you all must reserve the day prior or check-in the morning of (if there are slots open) under the checkin tab it tells you how many openings there are in each area. there are no packets this year, if you don't know your way around, I would get to HC and buy a $5 map. you can also open the hunting area map right on the HC home page. I have hunted Knox for the last seven years I know my way around coming in from mount eden gate and I have a map I just haven't went through the Chaffee gate to the hunting areas before. Just all new to me but I'm sure it will work out fine. Good luck to all and be safe.

I’ll jump in Wolverine, it has been slow for me, i’ve seen one doe in three days of hunting. They are starting to make scraps, saw a big buck chasing a doe out by Wilson gate on my way out yesterday evening. The last two mornings I walked within 10 yds of bucks on my way to my stand, their just not moving in daylight. I’ve talked to a few that have seen some and it seems the key is find acorns, their not that plenty mostly red oaks.
Good Luck the next two weeks should be good.

just make sure you know your map and your in the right area. had 2 guys with 2 youth today pull in my area guns ablazing in the wrong area today.

what area? I turkey hunted 15 with no luck. did jump a nice one though on the way out. my weekend is 11th and 12th

no. guns ablazing is a phrase. they jumped out in their orange at 8 am thinking they were in the right area which they weren't. i tried to explain to them where they needed to be but they didn't seem to want to listen.
