For those that have hunted Fort Knox this year and recently have the acorns been good this year on base and what if any have you seen of any pre rut action? I will be hunting their in the next few weeks and looking forward to the experience.

Hunted last night. Zero pre rut action that I have saw so far. Very few acorns were dropping either. Been scouting a little and have saw very few scrapes if any. Hope that helps.

I've seen barely any acorns compared to last year. Fields/openings in the evening are where I'm seeing the most deer.

Thanks for the information about the acorns, In Eastern Kentucky on my places where I hunt acorns have been good but that doesn't always apply state wide. As for the pre-rut action that is kind of what I figured it would be.

Also when checking into an area double check and make sure to put in after your window has opened because if you put in early then they will kick you out of your requested spot and could possibly suspend you. This happened to one of my buddies for an archery hunt.

I actually did some scouting this afternoon on Knox. I went to an area that was absolutely loaded with acorns and torn up with scrapes last year. I saw few acorns and no scrapes yet. I did bump a deer though.

I am currently out in Idaho chasing Elk. Was hunting a week ago on Knox. Red oak have been dropping pretty good from what I saw. I could hear them dropping while
Up in the stand and was seeing them on the ground.

Great to see the Game Wardens out checking/verifying everyones paperwork as they entered post today. I just wish that they would stop asking if you have a weapon after asking if you're going hunting. Each guard/warden that asks me that i say, why yes i do, and when they ask if its registered i say Nope I'm archery hunting. Easier if they ask if i have any firearms. Oh well it is what it is. GL all be safe, and wear your harness if you're going to ve in a tree.
