I put my daughter in for the youth gun deer hunt this fall. Are the youth given an area to hunt or do you have to go to hunt control and draw for an area.

Nov 9-10 this year....I usually don't get to excited about deer hunting anymore. This draw has me getting itchy for cold weather and 25' hunting.

You will get a packet in the mail with the area she was choosen for along with the area guides name and number. You will need to call the giuide and talk to them, I recommend that you ask them questions, and ask for their advise on where to go in the area. They know the area like the backs of their hands and can get you in a place or an area that allows you a good chance to see/harvest a deer.

Good luck to the both of you.

Was that one of the full time guards or one of the Military they have filling in? Also just an FYI: i ran into first weekend of squirrel, if you have a buddy that does not have a shotgun, and needs to borrow one to hunt with, then that person you let borrow your gun has to complete another 2759 and take it to the Wpns Reg Office and have it completed, even if you are signed in to the same area, and are within reach of said weapon, if its in the hands of another individual it has to be registered in that persons name, or your illegal.

It was one of the GS guards. Have not had any issue with any of the Soldiers that are working the gates.

OK, and the GS guards are the ones that should know better.

That is exactly what I would haver thought also, Some may know exactly what the Regs are, but their are a few out there that think because they wear a Badge, and a Gun they can make up their own rules. I just hope that someone in a position of authority gets them ALL on the same page before next weekend.

Yes it moved WAY down Wilson Rd. on the right hand side. There is a small sign. Can't miss it.
