a very good looking mount. i would have liked to seen him near my stand.

post your measurements. like others that guessed, i had it low to mid 30's. just don't see the tine length for that score. you sure you didn't use an outfitters tape? :)

Gross upper 120's. Nice buck and mount.

I admit he had me snookered. Beam length and mass can really run up a score and are hard to judge. After looking again I think the fact that the pic is so close up, it may contributed to some of the lower guesses. Don't worry about having to defend yourself on here. Once again, very nice buck!

The very first pic tells the tale to me. Any time you can grip the main beam between the points without touching the points you know its got some serious beam length. This guys mass is deceiving too. I didn't place a guess but I would have been a little under too.
Might want to check your math...I came up with 146 1/8 gross.
And by the way...smile a little more, you'll feel better.

You think 22 inches is serious beam length?
And no offense to the OP, it's a great deer regardless. But in all the years I scored hundreds and hundreds of deer at shows, I'm not sure I ever had one deer come in with a correct score from someone who had done it at home.

Well, the math was from the B & C site. I know it's hard to follow because of the way it copied. But I didn't add it up, I just went by their #s.

Well, they're actually 23 4/8. I am by no means a professional scorer like you, but I did try to be conservative. If I find an official scorer close to SW Indiana I'll have them look at it. Kinda curious to see how close or far off I might be. Of course I don't guess an official score would come from 3 pics on the internet either:rolleyes:

No 22 isn't, that's just average. Now 23 1/2 as this deer had, now that's serious!
You would think someone with such excellent skills of antler measurement wouldn't be known as slickhead slayer????
AND....I'm not sure I would trust a deer show guy that can't get his numbers right scoring my deer anyways.
Ohhh, I forgot the smile. :)

He is very semetrical. That will help score alot and he is a ten instead of a 8 which always helps his brow tines could be a little longer for his frame but steal a great deer in my book I say mid to high 130s.
An that is without looking at your score so I was just guessing blind.

I can't believe this thread is still going. People, stop trying to score the buck. Only slickhead slayer can score a buck correctly.
