Worked on the boat and hunting truck yesterday. Drove down to one of our sloughs and the farmer had cleaned all the ditches and knocked some dams out. Water level is pretty well gone until the creek gets back up. 2020 here we go.

This year is starting out like most... Not ready for duck season and too busy to deer hunt!

Getting ready for a Florida trip in October.. In early September I ordered Hydroturf which they said was in stock.... Took 3.5 weeks for it to arrive while I was in Florida... Boat trailer needed a few bandaids etc so I rebuilt it in October. New bunks, sliders and the bandaids over the rust holes from dunking a painted trailer in the salt.

I decided to pull my floor up and check the factory foam and replace the screws with rivets..
Last time I had the floor out the foam was still good... Not anymore. About 1/4th was waterlogged. I decided to go deeper and pulled the front deck off. The pile of foam was under the front deck. I knew I had a crack or two but I have several cracked welds etc so I'm headed to the welder today,

Lot of work for a few ducks. Lol. I sound like my dad. He says that deer meat you eat is the most expensive meat you’ll ever eat. Lol. We never used all of that. He would walk outta our dairy from milking cows and walk over the hill with his 30/30 and deer hunt lol. Spend maybe $10 on a box of shells a year. Still wearing what he wore to milk cows.

I had the most miserable opening day that I have ever had. I hunted with my son, nephew, and good friend on Green River wma. I went to 1-2 acre buckbrush hole that was well off the beaten paths and main roads. Got to the place I had scouted 2-3 times plenty early and put decoys out etc. Was first person there on a spot that is too small to hunt 2 parties. I think you guys can figure out whats gonna happen. These 3 grown men from Russel Springs come out and walk within 30 yds of me and 5 yards of my decoys. I finally asked if they really plan to hunt right out in front of my barrel. They said yeah...we built a blind (10 sticks of cane in an area that does not have pre drawn hunt sites). I explained the rules, I explained the risk... I explained that If I would have pulled in and saw a truck or a light I would have went somewhere else. I try not to argue out hunting #1 because everybody has a gun #2 it ruins the day. These middle aged men refused to leave and forced me to be the responsible one. I took my 4 and hunted near them to avoid shooting at them and being shot at by them... dude even had the nerve to bad mouth people that just walk in on him. When he did I cussed some more and asked if thats where he learned to do the same thing. I'm sure I was less than fun to be around. My sone said, "Now I understand why you're so mad at ducks."

That ruined the day and I'm pretty sure spread bad JuJus... Can a guy sacrifice a white duck or burn a red s-10 to bring balance?
