The doctor made it official today. I'm a 12 year cancer survivor. I was not going to post about it but after I told the doctor about the post I made 12 years ago telling my friends I had prostate cancer and begging them to get tested as early as they could he told me to make another post. He told me there have been several NEW and BETTER things in this field and the chances have improved above the chances I had back then. There are much better ways to find the cancer and better ways to treat it and he wants me to keep telling people to get their PSA test as early as they can and to keep getting it tested. I don't remember my PSA score when they first found it but today it's 0.049, the lowest it's ever been. Last year it was 0.059. My farther died from prostate cancer then 5 years later they told me I had it. Now my brother's PSA is changing so he's right on top of it, not wasting any time. One of the new things they have to find the cancer on the prostate is a new MIR that can tell if it is cancer and shows the doctors where to stick the needle for a biopsy. They can't do it in Paducah but they have it in Memphis and Nashville. Guys, get out there and get your test. Please do not wait. All it is is a blood test and if the score is in the numbers then they will do more tests and you & the doctors decide where to go from there. It's simple really, takes less than 2 minutes and it CAN save YOUR life.
