Now that we are the #1 B&C state, I wonder if we will ever get gun season moved out of the rut? That would definatly help with having more mature bucks running around. Watched a show the other day where Stan the man potts said that was why Iowa had such a larger heard of mature bucks, and it makes a lot of since. If its good now, there is no reason we shouldn't make it better.

dammit. I've seen 3 deer in over 30 years of hunting that would make B&C. Maybe now that we are number 1, I might kill one.

I give credit to the 1 Buck Rule, and the large amount of quality habitat we have here in Kentucky.

Here in Kentucky we have a lot of land, where Bucks can hide and grow old.

The one buck rule is a good thing, I've just been unlucky enough to have a lot of the mature bucks I have on camera get shot every year during gun season. If it was moved out of the rut I believe those bucks would have a greater chance of living extra year or two. Just my opinion

I agree 100%. Although some would disagree, moving rifle season out of the rut period would definitely help to contribute to developing more mature deer. Especially in my area lol, where my neighbors don't do anything such as scouting and preparing, but somehow manage to walk out in the woods with a rifle during rifle season and come back out with a rut crazed buck that I've passed on all fall. I know everyone is entitled to their opportunities, (and in NO way am I discriminating against those who hunt with a rifle because occasionally I jerk mine out when bowhunting gets frustrating) but it just gets aggravating sometimes when you put a lot of work in all this and see it fail. But, I guess that's hunting. Just my two cents fellas.
