Here’s the Cliff’s Notes version of why this is a bad bill for KY. There were some folks asking for a short rundown:
HB395 would fundamentally change the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) and the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Under HB395, the KDFWR becomes an...
The laughable part is the suggestion that this will take politics out of fish and wildlife. This is blatantly political. I’m failing to see how giving 4 commissioner seats over to agriculture will “protect the integrity of KY’s natural resources.”
From the article linked below:
“As a lifelong...
If you want to contact your legislators, the links and numbers are below. Leaving a message for your reps is easy. I used the Legislative Research switchboard.
*****The folks answering the switchboards are very nice and will record your message and read it back to you to ensure accuracy.

I hope hunters, anglers or folks that care about fish and wildlife in KY are following this:
****Who thinks transferring 4 out of 9 Fish and Wildlife Commissioner seats to the Secretary of Agriculture is a good idea? And that’s only the beginning.
On January 28th, 2022, House Bill 395 was sent...
Tinnitus is weird. Sometimes I can barely hear it and others it’s like I just shot a .22 Mag out of my Ruger Single Six.
Another thing you don’t hear folks talk about is the correlation between ADD and having trouble learning to read. I’m not sure what it is, but there’s a tie in between...
I agree. A rabbit is a more fragile animal than a squirrel. Anyone that has done any amount of squirrel and rabbit field dressing knows. The skin alone is exponentially tougher on a squirrel. You can hit a rabbit marginally and it’s anchored enough to walk over and retrieve it - not so with a...
Yes. I’ve never had much of an issue using steel 4s on swampers. But squirrels and steel don’t mix. Squirrels are just tougher. It doesn’t anchor them. They soak it up and get to nests or holes.
Maybe going from 4s to 3s would work better. Now I understand the whole steel is a crippler saying.
I’ve been researching and can’t find a definitive answer about the tightest choke you can use for small steel shot like #4 or #3.
Currently, I’m running a IMP CYL shooting #4 steel for rabbits and squirrels when forced, too. It works fine for rabbits and mediocre for squirrels. (The steel is...
I didn’t read the whole thread. I’ve been on here long enough to know someone suggested SSS.
You would’ve been in your right to shoot that dog I believe. The whole SSS sounds cool, but why would you go through the trouble of SSS when you were in the right?
It doesn’t have anything to do with...
Anyone have experience with the durability of Tough Duck workwear? They are out of Canada and apparently make some of Filson’s vests.
$65 TD vest vs. $125 CCF vest
BS company HR policies aside, Carhartt duck material holds up to briars about as good as I’ve found.
I have hunting dogs so there is no off season. The chit always needs shoveling, pens need washing, doctoring dogs, training, yard work/socializing, etc. Fact is I just like being around dogs.
