If you ever used her services or followed her tracks say a prayer for miss Ruby tonight and tomorrow morning. She will be going to be put down early tomorrow morning as she is not doing good. At almost 11 years old she has something bothering her internally and it is the best thing for her at...
Hopefully answered by a Co.
From another media platform what is the legal limit on spoonbill. If you are night fishing and shoot 2 before midnight can you shoot 2 more after midnight?
Keith from the 8 years I tracked I found there aren't many that actually do this. Those that did didn't have experience and were mostly trying to train their dogs and were doing this service to get on a trail to try their dog. I know of at least 2 dozen deer we went on after another dog that we...
Call Joe lacefield from ky fish and Wildlife and ask him about the one shot through both lungs that lived. It was actually shot with a g5 montec and lived 2 weeks before being killed in gun season. Joe was the one who did the autopsy on this deer and another friend of mine shot it. I think you...
Guy called us off this morning before we left. Didn't like the fee and or the lack of blood that was washed away by the rain. Then 10 minutes later said he found the deer but never got a pic or heard any more. So ruby is still officially retired at this point.
I am in edmonson county. After posting about her retirement last season and not advertising ive only had 3 calls this year. The first 2 was midweek and I couldn't have took them anyway. Only taking this one as its on the weekend and its a gut shot. Gut shot deer can be tough but thats what ruby...
Rain after the shot. Alot of guys and trackers think rain washes away the scent trail. In fact if they knew the answer they would be surprised. Rain not a washout actually makes the trail easier to follow for a dog. When rain dilutes the blood it spreads it out over more surface area. It also...
Ruby may be coming out of retirement tomorrow. Have a guy desperate on a deer that he has 5 years of history with. He can't find anyone else that is willing to track after the rain or make the trip. This is why I hate to keep her from it as we always took the calls others refused. Rain actually...
With the number 181 after last season being her biggest find her number of recoveries and my late fathers biggest deer it just seemed like the time was right. As a 130 pound bloodhound she just isn't in the shape to be tracking like we used too. Plus my work schedule just isn't the best for...
I have names of a few but not necessarily recommend or say anything bad about another man's dog without having see them in action. That being said we have went on and recovered several deer after "other" dogs have failed. Most of these are the ones who advertised as "free" trackers.
Ruby is fine. She had a minor issue last season with a gland. She has recovered and never was down. She found her biggest and last deer last season. A 181 inch mainframe typical. Seemed fitting to retire her at that point seeing as how her original owner Timex biggest deer was 181 inch 11 point...
