I knew when i read this title it would be SE Kentucky. Every time i tried to hunt public in that area i had dogs running deer. Nobody seems to keep them put up. Just disrespectful of owners to do this.
I think pines are the state tree in SC lol. My property has oaks , hickory, poplar and pine. Lots of acorns typically. Fortunately, I have a good amount of white oaks and beech too.
Yes, for sure 4.5 at least. We have no Ag nearby. Body was too big for 3.5 YO in this area. He has multiple splits in both ears and a big cut scabbed over on back of his head as well. More mass than average too. Big time fighter I guess.
I still have my unfilled KY buck tag, but i managed to kill my best SC buck to date on Thanksgiving morning. Shot on my own property i bought last year. 25 yards , watched him drop. 20.5" Spread and 21" main beams. Good mass for SC buck too. Hopefully ill find one in KY late season.
While we are on the subject, does anyone know who the guys are that trespass on Green River WMA during gun season? The archery only section. Someone is bound to know some of them, must be at least 50-60 a season that do it.
I said when i bought my farm in SC ,two years ago , i would prosecute the hell out of anyone i caught trespassing. Caught the first guy this year in a tree with a damn posted sign on it! I got him down from the tree and talked to him. I actually believed his story about being misinformed by the...
Massive amounts of acorns? Where at? I didnt fine ONE acorn in Taylor county all of last week. It affected my hunt because i couldnt find any deer at all on the oak ridges.
I have reported a minimum of 9 dirty rotten rifle poachers on the archery only WMA's over the years. Not one time did the person i talked to appear to take it seriously. I may as well just start hauling bags of corn out and dump them out. KY DNR doesnt seem to care about hunting enforcement...
Back at work today in NC. Was about to post in yesterdays thread right at daylight. Saw a doe heading my way across the powerline with a buck following. Really nice 9pt but he was dragging his pecker keeping up. The doe started eating persimmons in front of me 15 yds away. After 10-15 mins he...
8 does and a 4pt so far. lil guy just Isn’t gonna do those heifers any good at all. One of them actually peed in a scrape and got on hind legs and rubbed forehead on the limbs.
A good 8pt just crossed the power line 100yds. Almost climbed there. Would probably shoot if I get chance. He's on my side now. Climbed here since two does fed here last night. 3 dink bucks x right here but not him. Lucky dude lol
