Kybuckbuster, didn't you say Fishermen Lakes in Louisville are a nice little gem? Right below dam at T-ville is alright but rest of the river is funky imo.
Sympsons Lake is more of a water reservoir than a fishery. It is owned by the water district and you have to purchase a $50 permit to enter the lake (if you are a resident). It is not managed for fish like the other lakes are and completely void of structure which hampers the fishing imo. Better...
I have a Slayer Propel 13 and a Ultimate FX15 Tandem. Both are great boats but if I was going to have a dog with me I would choose the Ultimate. There is a Wilderness Commander 140 for sale on Louisville Craigslist for $950. It is a single seat kayak/canoe hybrid, seems like a good deal.
Get with Canoe Kentucky over in Peaks Mill. They have demo's and a huge selection of boats to look and try before you buy. It isn't a easy decision for sure, but there is a boat out there you will fall in love with.
It's all about what you want really. I take my pedal Native anywhere I want to take it. The rudder drags every now and then but never had an issue just like 4 others that I know that have the same boat. The only downfall to the peddle yaks in my opinion is weight and size, which can be an issue...
They're relatively inexpensive enough to buy two. I own a Slayer Propel 13 and a Ultimate FX 15 Tandem. Both serve different purposes but get me where and how I want to go.

Has a moderator expressed any interest yet? What a great addition to the forum this would make. I knew there where other paddlers on this site but there are several that I didn't know about. I'll bet there are more of us that haven't seen this thread yet.

Several of us members enjoy paddle sports alongside fishing and camping. I think it would be a great idea to allow those of us to have a section dedicated to canoeing and kayaking in Kentucky. Great suggestion!
Cal is doing a great job imo. He has to figure out how we can play 5 on 5 the whole game.
Not having a consistent inside threat is killing us.
