Thats whats so great about salt water. You are libel to have anything grab that bait.
I would like to see that thing on a grill.
I go out on the dive boat across the way tied up to the left of the pilot boat. I toss lobster heads in the water after getting back from a dive. I'm sure they don't go to waste!
Yea I've been watching his vids. Big ass grouper in there
Those Goliath Grouper are taking over especially in the Gulf. Read an story on line today about guys catch a 3ft shark and a grouper sucking it right off the hook as they were reeling it in. When we were in Florida this summer a 300 lb grouper washed up on Boca Grande, likely killed by Red Tide.
Dude that is ramp monsters! I enjoyed the video and will likely watch more of his.
I liked it. My only suggestion is get rid of the flip flops. Before your ass gets pulled in.
You would have to have a extra large grill for that thing to fit on. Old boy sure catches some big ones where most people would never think of them being like that canal.
Makes me feel silly paying for a charter to go off shore LOL. It appears he is doing this at low traffic times but i could see his welcome getting wore out quick if he gets in peoples way.
Its a busy ramp.(15th street ramp in Ft Lauderdale) Has two double lane ramps and costs $2 an hour to park your rig in the lot. I have launched there several times over the last 12 years or so. The garage directly across is a large boat dealer. Next door is the Ft Lauderdale Police boats. The battleship grey boat is the harbor pilot boats.
Cool stuff! Thanks for posting.
Aren't they protected?
I think so but not sure why. They are everywhere. Most charter and even some commercial fishermen in the Gulf hate them. Say they suck up everything along the reefs. I have no clue as to what I’m doing but hooked two within a few mins of each other. Being inexperienced they broke me before I could get them to the boat. Capt said both were likely 300+ pounds.
Knowing that grouper is popular at restaurants, I remember watching a show where someone caught one and me thinking "man, that would make a lot of sandwiches" until they had to throw it back.
