The price is going down. And a Gen 2 Plus with Infrared Illuminator will give you the same thing, for less that 2 Grand. Add a suppressor and all you need is Coyotes. You can do the same thing.

I have an IR digital setup that I use in TX and GA and I have used thermal. The IR is nice but is limited to the strength of your light but there is a very big difrence with the thermal. Can see mice and rabbits several hundred yards away. Perhaps one day I will scrounge up the scratch and make the upgrade.

I want to try hog hunting with one one of these days. Seems like it’d be a lot of fun

But one thing for sure. If there is ANY poacher that reads on here. OLE HATSNIPER sure gave them something to think about.

No, they had prolly already thought about it he just fanned the fire. I read an article last year where some of the “professional” hunters had gone somewhere and shot deer with pellet guns.
EC - didn’t mean to get off subject here. Have you ever watched Predator Nation or Foxpro Furtakers on outdoor channel or sportsman’s channel? They do some of the night time predator hunting using thermal imigaing scopes. Pretty cool stuff and looks like it’d be fun to try.

Thanks. I don't get cable anymore (nothing was ever on it to justify 1k or so a year). And even when I did get it, those channels weren't on it...even if you had the "expanded" service.

But I'm sure I can find some episodes on youtube or somewhere like that. I'll look for it.

Same here EC didn't mean to high jack. My buddy has one of those scopes. You can count the nose hairs in a coyotes nose. Wish I could afford one.
