We will be down first week of July. Probably be 4-6 of us fishing so thinking about a private charter. Looking for recommendations. Thanks.

Just go walk the dock at Capt Andersons marina and Treasure Island marina and see who is available tell them what you want and cut a deal. They don't make money tied to the dock. The party boat at Andersons is another option, they have trips from 6 hours to overnight. I have done the 12 hour trip 5 am to 5 pm several times and always caught fish. I think they went up to $101.00 for those 12 hour trips per person. And $5 more for a bunk that's worth it for the long ride out and back in. Trip is usually 3 hours running time out, 6 hours fishing and 3 hours back in so you have time for a nap both ways.

Always done the captain andersons party boat, 12 hour trip, probably a dozen times. Never been disappointed. Done a couple private charters in the gulf as well, but caught more fish on the party boat.

I’ve fished with Anderson’s before. Had a good time. Just thinking if there is going to be several us going may be a better option to go with a private charter. I’m not sure what they run. Looked at a few earlier but nobody puts prices up. I’ll call around. But if I don’t go the PC route I’ll go back with Anderson.

Few good guys to go with.
    Wayne Lube on the Freedom
Stewart Miller on the Great Escape (super nice boat, I worked deck on there for 2 season back when Wendell Sauls still owned it
BJ Burkett has the Hooked Up
Benji Kelley has the Lady Kelley (worked deck for him off and on for 6-8 years)
Mike Sullivan has the Capt Mike and the Capt Hank (decked both boats)
Me and Wayne broke in about the same time, worked deck side by side at Anderson’s for years. The Capt Hank, Capt Mike, and Freedom are Henriques hulls, CG approved to carry more than 6 ppl. The Escape is a Key West #1 hul also ch approved to carry more than 6. The Miss Kelley is a bad a** ride, if I remember correctly it’s a 42’ Jeff Gillman hull built for Big Joe McKinney, then sold to John Pettijean, then Benji bought it.
If you can’t tell I’m slightly biased towards Capt Anderson’s Marina. When I was down there it was called Murderer’s Row. Simply bc we would slime the dock ever afternoon. We’d all get back in from 3:30-5:30 in the afternoons if you didn’t have a full box of fish you were embarrassed to throw down .

LOL, I thought this was a thread about fishing Fishtrap and the Big Sandy. That looks more fun.
