What up is I'm wanting to go Crappie fishing there. Wanting to know if it is worth a trip. Do they start in April like Ky lake or run later? Any size??? What about Bluegill? Size range. I'm about 2 hours away just wanting to try Nolin.

If you're that far away, I would save my gas. Crappie are avg at best, spawn is well over. For the crappie you'd catch, it wouldn't be anything you couldn't catch closer to home.....

Nolin can get pretty crowded on weekends from memorial to labor. When I was fishing the first week of May most of the locals were telling me the spawn had just ended and the fish were heading out. I had problems with size as redline said. I had no problem catching a limit most days but 10-11 inch fish were the majority. I don’t ever really bluegill fish. I’m from Louisville so basically 2 hours from Nolin. I switch mainly between green Nolin and rough. Any day at the lakes worth a shot so I wouldn’t say don’t go.

Thanks yall. I mainly fish Taylorsville lake. I am only 20 minutes away from it. Green sometimes. Ky Lake in the spring. Just wanting to try some place different. Thought about Rough to. I guess Crappie size is about same as Nolin.
