We were hunting here in Magoffin County on youth weekend and we were lucky enough to get a nice 7 point. We had a double ladder stand up, on a ridge finger and the deer had been coming around a big knob that we were facing. The camera card showed us this buck was coming in daylight every evening from 6-6:45. We hung the stand middle of the day Saturday of youth because he was taking the hunter safety class that morning. Sure enough, he was a no-show Saturday evening. We went back out Sunday evening due to all the rain Sunday morning. We climbed in the stand at 4 and at 4:45 he showed up, early lol. I was pleased at the patience he showed in waiting for the right shot. He ran about 40 yards a piled up and we had a little father/son moment once we reached the ground. He was hunting with a Sako 30/06 loaded down by his papaw so it wouldn't thump him to hard.
