Well I'm back. Got home yesterday. Home a week earlier than I wanted to be. But wifes Dad took a spell not doing good so we came home. Fishing wasn't the greatest starting out. RAIN SNOW and COLD. Crappie was slow. Then with all the rain lake came up quick. Caught some Crappie but they aren't as thick as they should have been. Asian Carp probably the problem. Asian Carp were EVERY WHERE THICK. First time I ever had one jump in my boat. GOOD CLUBBING DONE IT IN. First time ever catching them on Crappie jigs. They actually bit. Few got clubbed there. Snagged a few by thinking it was bites on the jig. THEY DIED TO. This past week Bluegill and Red Ear was starting should be real good for a couple of weeks. Had a good time caught less Crappie than I ever have. But those Carp are ruining the lake.

Heard the Asian carp were getting really bad. Wonder if the state put a bounty on them? If $2 a fish was paid for every one turned in or so, that may encourage a ton of them being caught and maybe wiped out.

Hope all is well with your father-in-law.

Welcome back DH13. I hope your FIL is ok.
While you were gone, Wildcat went to Europe and grouseguy denounced socialism and became a Trump supporter.

Hospice sitting wit FIL. Not looking good. The Carp problem is bad. Crappie look like they are starving. Caught a 17 inch that you could read thru put it back. They aren't as thick as they usually are. F@W had a meeting down there saying they are trying to get some federal help. Hoping to gain money to pay commercial fishermen to help clean them out. They have to do something. Other states are trying to do the same. Crappie poor enough I'm thinking of going to other lakes for Crappie fishing.

I don’t think it would put a dent in them you can go to Barkley damn bow fishing and shoot down the walls of the locks without even seeing one and hit one about every time, I got tired of shooting them so I just go for the spoonies now

The carp are in the lakes by the hundreds of millions. They are completely covering most bays and creeks. The ecosystem will be devastated. One female can lay over a million eggs. There's no way to fish them out or net enough to do any good. The only answer will be to make them sterile or a biological weapon to target them. Sadly, I see no answers to do much good any time soon. People are going to be selling boats and homes down there in mass soon. I know of a guy that already sold his house and ski boat because his kids will not get in the water after being hit by them. Very bleak outlook.
