Not sure I remember an opening weekend this chilly in a few years. What's your thoughts about the weather setting in and deer movement?

26 degrees and a 10mph nw wind, yep its gonna be cold. We just haven't had any cold weather this fall so not really prepared for this. I don't remember an opening day this cold, maybe the last weekend.

I’ll be in the new house, sipping coffee with the buddy heater on. Good luck to all. Be safe and shoot straight.

Yup, really cold. I just have a buddy that thinks that the deer tend to shut down with these kind of temps, but I think just the opposite and wanted to hear what you guys thought.

I’d say they’ll be moving. Good luck to all.

I don't know about here but I hunted some very cold temps up north. Deer tended to hold up until mid day then moved to feed. I hunted in Michigan one year during late archery, got in the box blind overlooking a ton of corn before daylight with temp's near zero. Never seen the first deer until 11 am so hang in there as long as you can.

I plant to hang in there. Some Deer will move early by hunters pushing them. Like you when its real cold Deer hold up to save energy till sun gets up good. About 10 or 11. Some will move because hunters get cold get down and walk to warm up. I got a back pack filled with water Pepsi Sandwiches Honey Buns some Taffy candy Peanut butter and crackers and a thermos of Coffee. Buddy heater already in blind with extra tanks. Im in it for the long haul. But hoping to end it at daylight. LOL

Cold weather not the best imo. Mid 30’s best temp imo. But I prefer 20’s to upper 40’s
