Shot a deer this morning. Shot looked ok but arrow didn’t go all the way through. Gave him 4 hours recovered arrow. Arrow was broke off had about 6 inches penatration. Found bright red blood with small air bubbles which I thought lung. Tracked him up hill. Jumped him up looked like he run 50 yards down hill in holler fell down twice like he was hurt bad. I backed out. could I of hit one lung? What to do?

If you were in a stand with a steep enough angle for the shot then yes it’s possible to have only hit one lung. If there is not a lot of coyotes in the area go back in the morning and pick up the trail again.

Overnight rain will probably make tracking difficult in the morning. I’d go with your gut, If he was shot this morning depending on the time you jumped him he ought to be dead. Make sure you mark everything good if you don’t plan on searching With the hour or two of daylight left

You could have hit lung. We don’t know but a deer can go a longtime being hit in one lung and that’s a fact. Only thing to do is give him time and go back to look. Keep in mind there is rain in the forecast.

Don't push the situation really. I'd rather look for a dead deer in the rain than a live one. Good luck

I’ll bet he’s dead in that holler. If it’s a deep one that is hard to climb out of and he’s made it out, you may not find him anyway, if he can still move that well. If it’s been a few hours I say go check before nightfall and the yotes have at him.

Best of luck buddy! Sounds to me like a good hit but we all know how tough these things can be.
