Yes. Buy a good set of boots and break them in now. Once broken in, go scout every weekend you can. Get to know the area and you will be more successful. Good luck.

Killed a cow at PVB in 2012. There was plenty area around PVB to hunt. Was owned by coal company and would let you hunt.

What is the reason to close a WMA to hunting? I spent alot of time there years ago and it was loaded with elk, don't know about now. I saw several good bucks in there too.

No clue by they are closing it down to hunting. I read on the KFW site that it is open to archery only.

    This was his response.

PVB WMA is going to be closed to all hunting from this point on. There are some places like the revelation properties that are good to hunt or you could put in for the voucher program areas.

Other question is fixed blade or mechanical broad heads. I normally shoot a 400 arrow and 125 grain rage

Are you sure? It's not supposed to be closed until 2019?

Why are they closing it at all? Do you know their reasoning behind this? I thought WMAs were bought and paid for by sportsmen for sportsmen to have public hunting ground.

They want to have more public viewing options, based on what the article said. You can read it on kentucky.gov.
