I am just now getting around to posting this...back in March I was able to complete my grand slam with a beautiful Osceola. The slam was a goal I set four years ago with a few friends and we were able to get it done. The most fascinating part of it is all the memories from each hunt. The memories are almost as valuable as the bird itself!

Congratulations a great accomplishment. Could you tell me which pictures are which birds? I'm struggling telling one from another. I see 2 light tipped feathers, so that'd be a Merriam and a what Rio? The other two look like eastern's, so that'd be the Osceola and the Eastern? Help!

Sure. In order: Osceola, Rio, Eastern, Merriam. The Rio and Merriam birds are similar and my Rio do have light tips for the birds in the heart of Kansas. The Osceola and Eastern are very similar but you can tell if you look at the black band on the Oaceola’s wing. My Merriam was killed in Wyoming, Rio in Kansas, Eastern in KY, and Osceola in Florida.
