Watching my kids swim in the pond this past weekend inspired me to build a floating dock on the pond. I would have like to have built a permanent one but draining and putting posts in was not an option. I think this will serve its purpose just fine.

Nice work. I've been knocking around the idea building one as well.

Damn Chilly. You decided to build a dock on Sunday and had it done on Friday? That is determination there. Good work.

LOL I guess....Once I set my mind on something, I don't quit. Went and got my lumber and barrels after work on Wednesday and worked on it til 10:00pm. Spent about 3hrs Thursday evening working on it. Pretty fast build really. Had my Dad helping me. He's good help!!!
Next week I'm putting in the zip-line over the pond. Kids can't wait for that!

Are the barrels just sitting freely under the dock, or are the secured someway?

Mine are just wedged in between 2x8's and 2x4's. They seem to not want to come out due to the weight of the dock.
One barrel will support 440lbs before it is submersed. Thanks Google!
