No. Plenty of days already to get a doe.

I would love to see an extra week for gun doe. Sometime in December or January would suit me just fine. It would be another opportunity to kill them on food source and for me a chance to get out with the kids one more time. Heck, I would be ok with it being a youth hunt.

If it's late in the season, you could make it an extra two weeks and it would have a limited impact. It would have a huge impact if it took place during, say, opening weekend of archery season, though.

Then cut out first week of gun in November. Add that week to December or January would be fine.

We got to have a longer season especially in zone 1. We still have a one buck limit.
If we dont get the population down we risk more diseases mlm like ehd.

Like said there is plenty of gun season already counting muzzleloader. Plus the two youth seasons. Not sure you need more than that. Get a bow or crossbow . Plus why doe only your only allowed one buck ?

Deer are way too thick around here. I even stopped calling myself a deer hunter, in favor of deer killer a couple decades ago. Little girls wearing makeup and perfume don't have any problem killing a nice buck these days.

I agree with some of the others, there’s 16 days of regular gun season, two days for early muzzle, nine days of late muzzle season plus two youth weekends. That’s 8 weekends of firearm hunting. I have some neighbors that killed 18 deer on their 100 acre farm during the regular gun season. If you can’t get enough in that period maybe you need to invite some friends that need to fill a freezer. LOL. The free youth weekend would be a great opportunity to get some kids started hunting and thin out the doe herd.

I believe the additional days of "Doe only" harvests would depend on which County has too many Doe, that need additional harvest. Not all Counties have a high population of Doe or any Deer. Also, additional harvest would also mean a number of Button Buck would also be taken.

I think the doe only is to encourage those that wont shoot a doe because a buck may come out after to go ahead and kill a doe.
