I should phrase that don't send your kids to college unless their heads are firmly attached.. my oldest son is reading me tweets ( whether I want hear them or not) and the crap coming from the student body at EKU is absolutely mind numbing..

If my son wasn’t dead set on going in to the ministry I’d be encouraging him to go to trade school

Liberty University or Hillsdale are about the only two I would look at now and on the fence about liberty..

It is what it is. The younger generation, even many from a conservative background, seem to lean liberal. Many don’t think for themselves and do what is popular at the time.

Have you seen some of the before and after pics of normal looking kids when they go off to University, holy moly its like looking at the pics of the pregression of a meth head.. they start out looking normal and end up blue haired feminist (if they're girls) and boys sometimes it's worse, bottom line is not every one should go to college.

My grandkids hated me when I pushed either the Military or Trade school over College. One that did go to college didn't last long. He found out at home in high school he was a big fish in a little pond but once he got higher up found he was a little fish in a big pond and couldn't handle it.

You go to college. Stay 4 years or more, owe $100,000 or parents do. You get out with some Bullcrap degree in something you that trains you for Nothing. Then get the same $30G a year you had before you left.
But now you are an educated idiot communist with pink hair, nose rings, tats on your forehead and expect everything to be handed to you. And your hero is Bernie Sanders.

The one grandson that went into the military told his younger sister that degree in Bi-Racial Basket weaving will get you nowhere in life....LOL. She tried the USAF I pushed her towards but couldn't cut it and washed out of basic. Let a stupid boyfriend mess up a good chance. Now married not to that boyfriend with a daughter of her own and just told me the other day she now knows what I was talking about. Husband is in the NG and works for AT&T and makes good money.

I attended Murray State University, graduated in 1974. At that time MSU was very conservative.

With all due respect I have to disagree with y'all on this one. While I agree that universities are full of professors who are socialist or even communist in their ideology, many - in fact, I'll say most - of the kids in college (around here anyway) are good solid citizens from good families. I talked with my kids about the different views they would hear from some of their professors so they were prepared....

I was amazed at the other students I met through my kids. Solid, good, American kids. Many of them had part time jobs. Some were on scholarship. But they all were committed to getting a good education to prepare for their future. Now did they party a little - sure. I wanted them to have a good time. But both my kids saw their grades improve in college over high school. They were committed.

I do not - in any way - intend this message to be taken that there aren't great kids in vocational schools or in the military. I have the upmost respect for these kids too.

I believe there are more good kids out there today than there ever have been - in college, trade schools and the military. Problem is, you never hear about the good kids who work part time - or even full time - while they are in school. You always hear about the bad.

So while I agree that college isn't the right choice for everyone, and I also agree that there are some fields of study that do not provide earnings opportunities that make them attractive to kids who are looking to get a good job when they graduate, I do believe that college is the right choice for some.

Heck I went to Berea College and didn’t graduate until mid 90s. People call it the gay and hippie college but just about everyone I knew was strong conservative. Without college I’d be nothing but I agree it’s not for everyone and I’m an educator.

It's not the same anymore , my 25yo is thinking of going back to school and has been looking into Barea. It's very left now as many are thanks to their professors. I think if a kid has a very strong foundation they might be ok, but if a kid is easily swayed or a follower you might have an issue..
