had a little time on my hands and some scrap material so I built a feeder. Cost was 0$. Should be able to hold around 150 lbs.

Wouldn't you have to put a board across the front ,to keep the corn from running out on the ground ,and emptying your barrel .Good idea for a container

I was going to but have saw some that were just on the ground and it seemed to work. I put a piece of sheet metal inside to act as a funnel so the corn slides toward the opening and none just sits in there. Will see if it works or not. I will update once I get it out.

Will work fine. We have built several feeders similar to this one with 55 gallon barrels

I have one like this I built too. I used a toilet flange on the bottom of the barrel. Just made it easier. Coons got at this type less because I hung it from a branch out away from trunk of tree. Only a few found their way down the rope. Only reason I didn't use it because I never had any bucks eat out of it but that's another thread.

No different than any other gravity feeder.

So just an update. Corn flows very well. May have actually cut the opening at the bottom just a hair too big but the extra landing area makes it to where I can dump a bag of whatever on it. Trying the BB2 now.

Nicely done. Love the idea of using what you have.
