August and Sept are usually the most likely months to see them in odd places/counties not known to have bears.

Seeing a lot more ,in our area ,last couple years ,I’d say that one ,is probably some young male ,looking for his own territory

When we first started seeing them here they said were juvenile males. Which some were. But been seeing some pretty bigguns lately

Letcher co is ate up with bear. But idt they pay them much attention to them they've been around there so long. Surely there's some letcher co members on here to back thst up.

Those lower marks are to uniform for a bear to have made. Almost looks like a lineman with spikes has gone up and down that pole a lot or made by some machine used to set power poles. The marks further up leaves a question. Not sure but does he have any Elk in the area ? Reason for asking is one place I hunted up north there was a power pole buck deer wore out year after year rubbing on it. I watched a decent 8 point work that pole over for near a hour one day.

Sounds like a good area to set up on and wait for one. I wish they would populate more down this way. and let us have a season on them. I have a couple very remote spots in mind to check if they do.
