This is a Canoe and Kayak Dock, that is Wheel chair accessible. I pull my kayak up the ramp on the rollers with the hand rails and load my gear... and my Wiener dog... and then just slide into the lake, it's pretty neat.
And a few pics from the Nature Park on the far end of the Lake, which is accessible from a Tunnel under Ring Road.
I am a veteran... so this place... made me shed a few tears... and again while I type this.
Very good pics. The heron flying is fantastic. That is a nice park and a great memorial.
Thanks for the pics!! Most of all thank you for your service!!!!

AWSOME PICTURES. Being a Vet. I need to go see this place.
Nice pics love the dog
Thanks everyone... glad you all liked the pics. Since Oct 1, Frank and I have hiked around the trails there almost everyday... and on Dec 1, I started hiking with a 55 pound backpack... soon as it warms a bit more... Frank and I are heading out to hike and camp for a few weeks in the deep woods of MCNP. I plan on taking only the gear that is necessary and no more... I say the same thing before every trip... but always take more than I need.
RVtech24, thank you for your service!
Those are some awesome pics.
We used to ride our bikes around Freeman Lake. We’ve rented kayaks or paddle boats there a few times. It’s a cool place for sure.
Great pics and Thank You for your services
