another ploy to get the uneducated to vote. history is not taught like it was when i were in school. many things are not. part of a plan maybe..
i think when ya vote, you ought to be smart enough to have a photo ID. NOW i am wondering is you should have to past a history test of this country, or the world, no matter of your age.

i got way slowed down on this site. perhaps a keyword. its happening to me on the honda forum i go to. and now here. if anyone else notice's this, pay attention.
my nephew, give me a ride to the small store, bout a mile away. on the way back E were yacking to his buddy in the front seat. when e pulled into the driveway, he was 2 ft. over to the left. i couldn't see as i were in the back. my nephew is way past 16, least 8-10 years, still dont know some stuff. i had him an his buddy add some larger rocks under the frt. tire on the left. plus get the jack, out of the trunk, to raise the car up. getting the jack out of the trunk was entertaining. it was a scissors jack. neither one knowed how to work it. it gets worst. the socket part, had not been unfolded, so they were trying to turn the jack, then when i told them, ya got to get the socket part out by reaching in the handle, on pulling it out, they pulled it out straight. they could only turn the jack so much, with out the right angle approach. to make matters worst, when raising the car up, the handle was straight. they were trying to raise the car, with the handle in a straight line. i eventually got them in line, and it got done. took 45 minutes. i did let them suffer some, through it. these are kids in their mid 20's. i'm not sure i want them to vote. i think i'm for raising the vote limit, to 28..

So let me get this right....You must mean they ran off the driveway and got stuck...Correct ? I would say if they didn't know how to operate a jack and put rocks under the wheel to help level the vehicle to get it unstuck, you should had done it for them or showed them how rather than stand back and call them stupid. First time for everything right ? I am sure nobody ever taught you anything that's why the stupid post.
28 years old EH ? that wouldn't happen to be how old you are would it ? Yet you want to change the voting age to 28. That 28 year old could have join the military 10 years back. Gone to war several times over that 10 years to protect our country and your sorry ass, and maybe lost his life doing so. Yeah I got it maybe you should also. People like you with that type ideas amaze the heck out of me yet you think you could run a country...WOW.

^^^^ duster;; you got the post totally wrong. i didnt call anyone stupid. after turning into the drive way. i let, my nephew, and his friend make a mistake, then corrected it so they might learn. you have to teach, with out offending those you teach. i let them learn. i cant run a country, nor would want too. you got the whole post wrong. what kids learn now, in school, has nothing much to do with the real world. my point was kids dont know the basics. they are not taught in school. maybe you call your kids stupid when they dont know things. it is not my way. i let them learn. experience is a teacher. i just told them try this, or try that. i still dont remember where i said i could run a country. i think you made a stupid response.
im way past 28. stir someone else up. i aint falling for it.

maybe you remember when history was taught, how to read a clock with hands, or cursive writing, how to think instead of what to think. i'm older than you. just saying
i forgot; how to count change for a dollar. kid's graduate from high school, without knowing any of this.

History is still taught. Kids hate it and don’t absorb the knowledge like we did. Graduation requirement. I agree it’s sad on the on the others but cursive is making a comeback. My wife’s elementary been teaching it for 3 years now. My kindergarten daughter can write her first name in cursive now. Hopefully people care enough to teach their children to tell time on a clock with hands.

YEP I remember when history was taught. I remember in school where they taught how to count out money give change back and how to write out a check. How to balance a check book. As far as thinking DAD taught me how to think LOL. His way even if he was wrong sometimes. Funny about a clock. My oldest son when he was about 10. Asked me Dad how did you read a sun dial? LOL How times have changed. But as parents if the school don't teach em WE SHOULD. We taught our kids how to read a clock with hands. A ruler how to count out money. Now teaching the grandkids the same. Cant rely on school for everything.

I may have used the word stupid a bit to fast but your post implied that. Not knowing how to use a jack or put something under a wheel to raise that truck up. That's what we are here for to teach the younger generation how to do things. I bet someone showed you how to use a jack at one time or did you have to figure it out yourself. I have taught more than one kid how to do or fix things. In fact at my job they hired in some new mechanics. Adults BTW in their 40's. I had to show or tell them how to do several things. Even made a comment to one just before I retired that I was going to write a book on how to fix a CA line. One of those 40 year old guys told me he wanted to buy the first copy.
The no vote until 28 is what trip my trigger. I have seen that and have to think did this person even give thought to how old those Soldiers that protect them and defend the country are. In fact I said just the other day when one wanted the age to vote at 21 I had to remind them a kid can die for their country yet can't buy a beer legal in most states. That IMO is messed up. Show a Military ID and buy whatever they want soft or hard. They earned that right when they raised that right hand and took that oath IMO. FWIW I was one of those 18 year old's when I raised my right hand and even on base couldn't buy a beer until I turn 21.
I just read your other post. Times change and if one don't keep up with the times they will be lost. Why not take advantage of what new thing has came out. Makes life a lot easyer. I would say your on a computer or smart phone making these threads or post. Not writing them out on a slip of notebook paper in cursive and mailing them off for some computer geek to put down for you. Do you only drive a standard shift vehicle never learning to drive a automatic ? I am sure you can see where I am headed with this.

I bet if it was a video game they would make it out . This crap has ruined kids today .
When I was a kid , I could always tare something apart , fix it and remember how it went back together . I still can today.
Now days people takes pictures of every single bolt so they can remember how thing came apart.
If you are old enough to fight for our country then you are old enough to vote.

the boys were in thier mid 20's, and didnt know how to use a jack. they are not stupid, they much lack of knowledge. me over 60, i thought they should learn hoe to use a scissors jack + handle.
the no vote till 28, was just saying without a basic knowledge of history, without understanding what, or why you vote, they need more time to grow.
i know more from trial an error, then being shown. being shown something is one thing, to experience it is another. when i was 6, and my dad was asleep[night of drinking], in the morning i would take his car keys, then fire up the ford station wagon, 3 on the tree. i would move it forwards, then backwards in the driveway. i was too little to see over the dash, so i had to stop several time, in both directions, to look where i was. i could drive a tractor when i was 9. at least till my mom found out.. as fas as using a jack, i had to do that on on my own. that was in the days of bumper jacks.
i dont have a smart phone. not sure if i want one. i do have a PC. the 1st drive is windows XP. i dont use it much. the 2nd., linux, lubuntu. the one i'm one now. it was a windows drive, in 2016, i learned how to use linux. i'm not all that good at it, yet, i did download an operating system, reformat the 2nd hard drive, install it, an it is working. my nephew, and his friend can vote. they dont. i think they should. i also think they should vote intelligently. i dont want to tell them what to vote.
the kid's at collage are being taught, free speech is hate speech. brown shirt tactic's. its odd they can say what they want to, but not allow some one with a different view to speak. the only, hate speech, i hear, comes from the free speech they say. did i cover the computer geek part? i plan on putting several other operating system's on my 2nd hard drive. i joined the NAVY in 75.
as far as, [sorry ass], you will see that soon enough, or figure it out. patience is a virtue

The main reason I have trouble accepting the voting age to 16, is the fact that most young individuals are leaning toward Socialism.

THAT is the ONLY reason certain people want the voting age to be lower. Everything else is just ANOTHER excuse they use to cover the real true reason. Something with the wall and illegal VOTERS.

Exactly! Wildcat, you are thinking about this "lower the voting age thing", like I am. They want the age limit dropped to 16, so they (Socialists) can take power over our government.
