    This is another reason hes one of my favorite athletes. I knew he had money tied up in restaurants, but had no idea he was that much into it. Good for him

    i had no idea either... you just dont see that with alot of professionals..he is a very smart man business wise. when you look up a stellar basketball career he had it

    The restaurants are just a small part of it. They formed a company years ago, MAP, that stands for Mashburn, Avare, Pitino. The Avare is Lexington businessman Rick Avare. Besides Papa Johns, Outbacks, car dealerships and real estate companies, they also own a bunch of Dunkin Doughnuts, Insurance companies, Striker Golf, Somerset Houseboats, etc, etc, etc.
    They have done quite well, and I hope Mashburn gets to buy it.
