How much more do antlers begin to grow? Are we 50% done with the antler growing time period or just starting or almost done? Below are some pictures from this week, I'm just trying to gauge how much bigger these guys will get. Depends upon the buck. Some will be pretty much done by July 15 and others are just getting really started. I think the majority are done by end of July.

Most bucks are done growing by the end of July and many tend to really take off during July. The bottom two you have pictures of still have quite a bit of growing left.

Like others said.. It varies. I had one still growing a little on August 8. When antler tips lose the shiny roundness they have finished antler growth.

I'm thinking it depends on the buck. I got pics of a wide 7pt and a nice 8pt on June 22nd, both will be really special if they have another month and half of growing to do!

Like he said. When that shiny ball starts to go away on the tips of growth, they are done. Just my personal observations from my place.

The majority usually stop growing on or around the first couple of weeks of November.:eek-new:

@TheQDMA: Deer antlers can grow an inch or more per day, making them the fastest normal growing tissue known to man

Just saw that tweeted by QDMA's twitter account. Interesting!

That's because something else starts growing.
