ive seen quite a bit on the farm this year, more so than previous years. but i told the father in law if it were on the farm i wouldnt dig it

  3. I'm finding plenty, but I swear each year the big stuff gets less and less.
Used to find plenty of 4-prongs,now it's like if it makes a 3-prong somebody nabs it.

No Greytail, but I found a double 4 prong in your neck of the woods.I guess you could call that an 8 prong.

Got my permit at 9:00 wed. morning. Was in the woods by 10:00, home by 2:00. My feet wasn't used to all of the side-slope walking. Dug close to a pound green. SOme of the biggest seng in years. Came upon a big rock face covered in moss. Looked like somebody had decorated it for Christmas (big red balls of berries everywhere, mostly four prongs). Probably will pay for my muzzleloading trip to Kentucky in a few weeks. I'd be in the woods this morning but I have to be in a wedding. I'll hit it again Monday if I'm not rained out.

I myself haven’t found a 12 prong either kyfrantic but my grandpa once found one or like you called a triple 4 prong. It had three 4 prongs attached to on large root. Hey Hornhunter you had a great day. Wish I could dig it like that everyday. Wouldn’t have much use for my day job any longer.

    Keep'em treed .

Found a big patch the other day, plan on going back when work slows down. I almost hate finding the stuff, once you find one you can't get your eyes off the ground.

Does anyone know of a web site that shows pictures of gensing ? I went one time with a friend years ago hunting for it. But even after he pointed it out to me. I still can not identify it.

stuff looks like what I have always identified as a 5-leaf ivy. I really think I have seen a lot of this stuff in the past.

Know where several patches of yellow root are. Don,t know what it,s paying this year. If anyone has any idea give a hollar and post what you have heard.

  14. I dig goldenseal (yellowroot) ocassionally but I usually just transplant it to my place.I'm doing a wild simulated type thing for my kids and grandkids.I figure one day all these herbs will be scarce and worth something to have around.
