Shot this buck on 11/15/13 at 2:15 PM in zone 4. I was about to give up and go home, and then I heard something coming down the point to a big flat on the side of the hill. . . I looked with my binoculars and seen a doe coming down the hill. . . I hit the grunt call and then the buck came down fast! On the flat its pretty thick with brush and the buck came down and stood broadside lookin' in my direction. . . I had to turn my Nikon scope all the way up just to see him and lucky I was just able to see the kill zone! . . . I couldn't even see the back of him because of a big tree! . . . It was 88-yards. I shot him with a Ruger 30-06 and had a ballistic tip that a friend gave me to try out! . . . When I shot the buck, He just fell over on his side! The ballistic tip came out the other side and made a hole big enough to put my fist in, and his front leg was twisted around and just about came off! I'm having the head mounted! . . . This is the first typical 10-point that I've ever shot! I hung him up for a night after the guy cut the head off. . . Got a lot of meat off the deer, But the front shoulder was ruined from the shot. Not the best pictures! . . Didn't have anyone with me to take any.
