Default Question about Fort Knox buck

Help me out here guys. That picture is going around the other hunting forums and everyone is saying how great a buck it is BUT some are now coming out of the woodwork and calling it a fake. Can anybody on here find out for sure it was checked out at Fort Knox and that it's real. I myself don't doubt it in any way but you know how it can get. Anytime someone takes a great buck he either had to spotlight, bait or ever made the rack. I wanted some info to back the buck up.

It's not a fake. The deer is legit. I still believe Mitch Rompala killed a World Record buck in Michigan too.

BTW-If it make it to Redbone's web site, you can bet it's real. He checks his sources.

I beleive it but would like more info. Take a look around all the other hunting forums and see what people are saying. I wish I had something to tell them or ever show a different picture.

This is a pet peeve of mine, when ever someone gets a great buck people start calling it fake and spotlighted. I'm tired of hearing things like that.

Seem's like all the JEALOUS hunters come out of the woodwork whenever a big buck is taken. Most don't or wouldn't put in the time or effort to hunt big deer.

Got curious and was reading about the Rompala buck. What's the official word on that now? Was it proved a fake or certified as the world record? Huge deer.

No It wasn't proved and it isn't the World Record. He was sued by the producers of Buck Magnet Oats not to claim that status and has since vanished. The deer was reported sold to an antler collector. It should resurface one of these days. The Rompala story should be required reading for any trophy hunter that might want to claim a trophy buck. Rompala didn't want the deer entered, for various reasons. And it pissed off a lot of people who wanted the deer proven one way or the other.

Here's the agreement that ended the saga: http://www.rodharrison.com/bucks/rompolacontract.htm

Here's some more of the story: http://www.freep.com/sports/outdoors/qxdeerx6.htm

I for one believe the FT Knox deer is for real, I've read the posts on other boards including one that I'm the admin of.
I think when some people see a deer of this caliber their first thought is that it's fake or was taken illegally.
IMO this is a awesome buck and MR Gentry deserves alot of credit for taking this great buck.

Ah yes, Multi. I thought I was the only one that still believed Mitch. A friend even sent me a picture of Mitch's buck in Mitch's home. I kinda miss all the fuss that buck caused. Funny how people who haven't a clue will jump on the "it's a fake" bandwagon.
