Default 22 Long bullets?

Are there ballistic type bullits for a 22 long? I would like something for killing groundhogs or even small game.

Actual 22 long catridges aren't easy to come by nowadays. In 22 long rifle there are some great small game loads and even those that do fine for whistle pigs if you stick to shots within limits. No ballistic tip loads that I know of.

From looking on the web it looks like my best choices might be CCI stingers, Federal 22 Long HV (solid copper plated) or remington yellow jacket HP.

CCI makes some called "Hi-Shock", in a red box, they are a little pricey, but the break into 3 pieces when they impact. Very lethal.

Whatever your choice, make sure the bullet has a lot of knock-down power, and determine the kill factor of the bullet you are using.
