Default Browning A-Bolt with Boss

Thinking of getting one of these in 300WSM and wonder if the BOSS system really helps all that much and worth the extra $100.

I have never shot a Browning A-bolt but I do own a Winchester model 70 that came with a Browning BOSS and it is great.I turned the BOSS to the recommended setting for the weight of bullet I would be using and shot a 3/8" group with it at 100 yds. and a 1-3/16 inch group at 200 yds. and haven't touched the BOSS since. That was about 5 years ago and it is still as accurate today. My other rifles I always had to experiment with different loads to find just the right one.

I shoot a .270 Browning A-bolt II Medallion with the boss system. This gun has been outstanding. I set it to the factory specs for the bullets I shoot and left it alone. I cant say that it will do something a high quality gun without boss wont do, but it is a consistent, accurate, and reliable shooter. Oh yeah, dont forget your earplugs, it's got a major blowback effect.

They are where you find 'em

I have a Browning A-Bolt 2 with the BOSS and love it. Be sure and get the "CR" attachment if you get the BOSS. The regular piece has a muzzle break built in. You can tune your setup to the regular BOSS and switch the end piece to the CR without the muzzle break for hunting. The noise difference is dramatic with the CR but the recoil doesn't change appreciably. Who notices the recoil on a shot at a deer anyway.
