I am a students at morehead state. I would have really been interested in joining a club a couple years ago but not so much now because this is my last semester here. I think there is definately enough interest in hunting and fishing to start a club. You might want to start by posting flyers around campus and at local archery, bait, and gun shops.

It doesn't matter what sems your in we just need some help with the number of people that is willing to join the club. If you are interrested in hearing some of our ideas, I could get your name and phone# and give you a call when we have our first get together. We have the ten that we need to get started, but we are more than happy to listen to other students views and we would really appriciate it if we could get everyones ideas, no matter what sems your in.

personally, I am not interested in joining the club because I will be moving home in a month and half (out of the morehead area). If I were going to stay in the area I would consider it. As for ideas for getting people to join, the only thing you truly need to offer a perspective member is the opportunity to hunt and fish with people who share the same characteristics. The common characteristic is a love for the outdoors. This would be my main drawing quality for the club if I were wanting this to be a non-profit organization. Reflecting on my own personal experiences in college it can be difficult, at times, to find hunting and fishing partners- especially for new students. A hunting/fishing club would solve this problem.

If I were wanting people to join my club for extrinsic reasons you could offer a big bass or buck contest with prizes for the winners. If you decide to take this route you would obviously have to charge an entry fee. This is something that you will need to consider.

Good Luck!!!
