Yes I have, and I'll tell you it is way too much for frog season. So be careful!
You might want to consider a .22 |

I noticed Ruger is making 5 models now. I would like trying one, just don't want to buy a rifle that eats the wallet to shoot.
As of now when me and my daughter shoot .22s, we have gone through 1500 rounds in a weekend. |

The cartridges aren't too bad. It's a necked down .22 Mag case. The calibur is pretty sweet. I've shot an Anshutz (sp.) in .17 cal. I've shot crows with it at well over 100 yds. Been thinking of getting one for squirrel hunting.

I bought the Savage 503 bolt action pistol......avg groups around 1" at 100 yards with a 4x scope, best group can be covered with a dime. Haven't shot any critters yet, but thinking of taking it squirrel hunting. Fun gun to shoot.

Hey Massive Horns, the best thing I have found for bullfrogs is a .22 short hollowpoint. The idea is to transfer as much shock to their nervous system as you can to paralyze them until you can recover them. Hot bullets like the .17 is going in the wrong direction, don't you think? Also, the .17 is suppose to be priced similar to .22 magnum ammunition. Anyone bought any yet?

Hey Ksp,
I was joking with our new comer Big Antlers. He is Kin to me. I like those .22 CCI with half the powder in them. It really puts a thud on those bullfrogs. |

Cool, sorry to butt in. But since I have, I started hunting frogs about 20 years ago. Since then I have noticed that the vegetation is a lot more grown when season opens than it used to be. Have you noticed that? Wonder if the DFWR ever consider moving up the season to coincide with the closing of Turkey season?
