I had the pump action yelper. I was not satisfied. The tones did not sound realistic to me. If you are looking for an easy to use call, I would suggest the Knight & Hale, Lonsem Hen call. This is extreamly easy to use, required very little movement on the users part. It is adjustable for tone and sounds very realistic. I have baged serveral birds with this call and have been verfy satisfied. It is also very inexpensive. Having said that, my favorite call is the old wooden box call. They are hard to beat.

I dont have a favorite call turkeys are complicated. One day they will love a call, next day they wont even gobble at it. Your best bet is to have several different calls and use the one that is working that day.

I have a soft spot for box calls but will admit slate(aluminum, glass, etc.) are more versatile. Different strikers can produce a variety of tones & "rasp".
