I was going down I-95 23 years ago in Florida when 3 bucks ran out in the road in front of us but into the side of a tractor trailer. Two were turned into bloody hides and one got its antlers inside the wheel of the trailer and it spun him completely out of his skin with the hide flopping the pavement as the truck continued on. Our windshield was covered in blood and the truck driver was shook up. He cut out what was left of the deer and its velvet rack and we left him when we were sure he was okay.

The worst I ever saw an animal get hit was on my way to the beach in Pageland SC. A black lab ran in front of a big rig and got hit and thrown through the air like a frisbee for over what looked like 100 yards. I had to stop but there was pretty much nothing left of the dog...every life is precious...and only here for a little while.
