I have had an FX3 for about 3yrs now, the only problem that I encountered was at first the remote would not work past 100yds. I sent it back and they fixed it but dont expect 700yds ever, if it is in a position above you, you might get 300yds. If it is below you, maybe 150yds which is good enough in Ky.

I like how it travels, very small and light for what it does. Eight hours of charge will be good for 4 or 5 hrs of calling. The sound is very good with plenty of volume. The #2 best thing is the service, Foxpro is great at helping you out with a problem. The #1 thing about the FX3 is its durability, while I dont know how well it handles rain (if it is raining, I will have it under some type of shelter), the cold or heat wil not effect it. You can roll a 5000lb boulder over them, no seriously you can. Its a long story, someday I might tell it. It got busted up a lil' but never has it failed to work.

Its a lil' pricey but so everything else that you can have fun with.

The FX3 is a good caller, but I'd recommend you getting a FX5 due to the big improvements in the remote. Also, the remote does not go to sleep like the FX3 remote does. That one element has caused a lot of guys to go sour on the FX3 when there was really nothing wrong with the remote; that is the way it works. As long as you know it goes to sleep, and the first click after that just wakes it up, you'll be fine. The TX200 remote with the FX5 is far advanced and well worth the difference in price. 4 presets with instant access and a screen you can read the sounds on, much bigger capacity for sounds. You can always upgrade the FX3 to a FX5, but the price is right now to get a FX5 to begin with.

If you get one be sure to get the rechargeable battery with it. It will only last about 1 or 2 hours of hunting with regular AA batteries.
