Hard work beats talent when talent wont work hard.
Yep, I put a climber in a tree near one of the cams. That's where I'll be sitting in about an hour. Hasn't had corn in front of it since Monday/Tuesday, but it's always been a good rut spot, so we'll see what happens.
Way too warm, but the morning should be OK after a long night of rutting activity.

These are all good deer. Did you have "skindog" internet score any of these.
Do you prefer to be addressed as Mr. Balls, Mr. Out or just Balls?
To answer your question, no, Skindog hasn't (to my knowledge) internet scored any of these bucks.
Contrary to your belief, I happen to think that picture scoring can get you pretty close to a deer's score, and I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on all these deer. So, if you're curious about the score of any of these bucks, let me know which one, and I'm pretty sure that I can get you to within 5" of his actual score.![]()

HMMM.... BF, I thought you were the authority over Internet scoring? I strive to be as good as you someday!
Balls out, I enjoy guessing at the score of pictures. I'm pretty dang certain no one has ever petitioned B&C or P&Y to accept my guesses from pictures as actual entries. Sometimes we're really close, other times we're way off. To throw a score out there is nothing more than a slightly educated guess. It's no different than field judging. Sometimes I'm closer than others. Recently I had my ass handed to me when field judging a deer. Thought it wouldn't go more than 150, ended up busting 164 wide open! Way off! Same goes for trail cam pics. Lots of people better at it than me, lots not as good. As for my guesses on these deer, BF already knows what they are, no need in further input from me![]()
Buckfever, how did your hunting go for these bucks?
Jeff
I shot a nice buck with my recurve (first traditional buck for me) in the early season over a clover plot, but have a second commissioner's buck tag.
Here's a picture of the buck I shot. I haven't had him scored, but he should be in the 135" neighborhood, and I've got pictures of him for several years, so think he was 6 yrs old:
I hunted with my bow during gun season and passed on a few of these bucks while they were in bow range. I think I passed on 2 bucks that would be pretty close to 140", and , but I've been waiting on either of the two bucks in the pictures below. Neither is cooperating. I had the second one at about 50 yards during the first week of gun season, but that was just too far for me, and I had a bad angle. I've only got one day time picture of the first buck, and I think he'll go over 150". I suspect his inside spread is about 22-23".

Good luck BF. Is that first deer who I think it is or is this a different deer?
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted...What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job."

Very NICE, B!!
