    Default Draw Success

Just curious how hard it is to get drawn during the week (not openning week) at Otter Slough, Duck Creek, and Ten Mile?? Also, which has the best flooded timber hunting? I would appreciate any advice and good luck this season

    No timber at ten mile.

Went to the draw, hung around for a little while to see how it was going - decided not to even draw once we learned the number of reservations.

Called the number that night to hear the report - hunters harvested a 2.2 bird per hunter average.

Hunted a partially flooded bean field (was partially flooded since the beans didn't get out until Friday ) opening morning and shot one wood duck. Sunday was about the same with one bluewing teal.

Saw lots of high flying ducks, and lots of wood ducks running the river, plus several hunters running the river as well.

Took a tour through Otter Slough Sat. afternoon - I really don't see how they even have 8,000....unless they're counting all the coots! Nearly every pool was loaded with coots and a stray shoveler or mallard.

Might go again this weekend, but making that call on Thursday night once I hear the reports from my comrades in the field that day.
