Well the same virus got my computer this morning. We left it logged in and when i went to get on it this morning the fake virus protection virus got me. It looks legit but its a virus. The thing is that it only attacked the admin profile, and left the secondary profile alone. I guess a trip to bestbuy is in my furture.

Do this, save your money $$

Choose your OS, follow it step by step, run programs in order shown, post your logs here from Combofix, Malwarebytes, and then hijackthis so I can take a look.

Stopping a service in Task Manger does NOT remove any infection.

McAfee and Norton/Symantec products are the worst to use. Dont take my advice, next time one of you all have this malware, run McAfee and see how far it gets you, once you decide that your stuck, run Combofix and then Malwarebytes and your problem will be solved.

This fake virus protection will not even let me get online. It blocks my homepage and says that internet explorer may be infected and to buy their product to rid myself of the virus.

Go to Start, run, type msconfig and press enter.

Go to the Startup tab, click disable all and then reboot.

Then open the Control Panel, go to Internet Options, Advanced, and then reset Internet Explorer. This will disable all Add-ons, etc.

Then try to download those programs

Last night while doing some research I hit on a BAD virus that went clean though my Trend Mico Internet Security Pro without any warning at all.

Of a sudden I started getting messages on a virus but the messages were NOT by Trend Mico, I didn't see any brand name at all so I knew right then it was a fake virus software and they were part of the virus itself. I would get several messages about the virus in different sized windows and when I closed them all they would come back on. At one time I had no less than 10 windows running at the same time. The next thing i knew pron started showing up in several windows.

I pulled the plug and pulled the internet wire out.

I had gotten a virus not long ago and had to clean out my entire PC. I never did like the set up that came with the fix so I just went out and got a brand new PC.

This thing has a full size TV for a monitor. It's 27 1/2 inches flat screen.

The reason I got this one was it comes with a BlueRay DVD and I can watch the movies on here. No reason to get a small monitor if your going to do that.

It also has Windows 7, so far I like it but we'll see how it handles after I've been though all my stuff.

I guess I'll spend the rest of the day geting all my favorites back on here.

Watch out for those virus.

sounds like you had a hacker virus,,,you did the right thing and unplug from the internet,,,,i would have done a complete restore on it and gone on,,,take roughly 1 hour to redo the whole harddrive

You have one of the fake alert virus. Try malwarebytes , combofix, smitfraud, and take a close look with hijackthis. But, unless you want to wipe it out and start over you had better get professional help.

When I stop mine in task manager i did it not to remove it but to stop it so I could fix the problem. It would not let me hardly do anything else untill I stopped it. Dont know if you were respondin to my post or not, but hopefully this is helpful.

Yes it was yours, you didnt say that you removed it thats why I said that. How did you remove it?
