    Default P.O. Ackley guns

I have 2 custom made guns from back in the 1950's, a 22-250 and a 30-06 that my grandfather had made. He got the barrel's from Mr. Ackley im assuming when he was in colorado. The stocks are walnut from our farm here in KY and were custom made by a German immigrant from Cincinatti named Joseph Lamping. Mr. Lamping also installed WWI mauser actions on both of the guns. They are beautiful guns and I hunted with the 30-06 up until I purchased another so I could keep my grandfather's gun in mint condition. The 22-250 has a bull barrel and a Unertl scope on it and I have never shot the gun, just cleaned it and aimed it. I finally bought some new shells for it the other day because my father and I want to get it out sometime soon. I was just curious as to the value of the guns. I found an identical 22-250 like mine on the net that ackley made but it's stock was curly maple. I would never dream of getting rid of either gun because of the sentimental value of it, but I can't find but one picture of an original ackley gun one the net except the one I described earlier. Anyways, any info about the guns would be greatly appreaciated. Im really curious as to the history of them.

I would get a "Blue Book Of Gun values" to check the price then add the sentimental value to it. I have my grandfathers double barell shotgun. an Old iver johnson that I redone the stock. When he had it the safety broke and never worked. When It was handed down to me I took it appart and fixed the safety after many could not. It is almost as if he lives in the gun. I keep it locked up and only take it Rabbit hunting every year on Thanksgiving only! It is very special to me. I would never sell it even for $5,000 plus!
